The UAA Della Keats/U-DOC Summer Enrichment Program

If you have any questions please contact Geri Heiner…best of luck to anyone who is interested, Counselor John

This is a reminder that the application deadline is fast approaching, March 19, 2011.  This is a fabulous opportunity for a junior or senior high school student to travel to Anchorage’s, UAA campus for six weeks.  There they will be exposed to a wide variety of health career programs, make friends, experience campus life, take courses, conduct a health disparity research, and participate in job shadows.  The Della Keats program has mentored students for over 40 years in a safe and comfortable environment.

The UAA Della Keats/U-DOC Summer Enrichment Program is a six-week intensive summer program for disadvantaged Alaskan high school students who are interested in careers in medicine and other health-care careers. The goal of the program is to foster, affirm and encourage high school students’ interest in health professions through educational enrichment activities and job shadowing.  The program also seeks to enhance student success by providing a valuable introduction to college life.  WWAMI—Alaska’s Medical School encourages all eligible students to apply!
