Opportunities for students

Greetings,

I would like to present an opportunity for the students and faculty of the Anchorage School District to attend a free weekend of music October 8. The Salvation Army Western Territorial Band will be visiting Anchorage this weekend and providing free music instruction clinics at the UAA Arts building from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm October 8th. These classes will include instruction/ education on brass instruments such as cornet/ trumpet, trombone, Baritone/ Euphonium as well as conducting and composition. We are also having a free concert on the night of the 8th at Bartlett High School with the UAA wind Ensemble. These musicians are of the highest quality and I would encourage your students to participate in the workshops as well as attend the concert.

This group is coming up to support the opening of our new community center which will be offering among its many programs beginning music instruction in brass, percussion and guitar. The classes are available on Tuesdays at the location, (1701 C Street) and I would encourage you to speak with the center director  Daniel Tollerud (907) 375-3583 for more information on their programs.

I am attaching a copy of our flyer so that you may print a copy if you like.
