Make Your Voice Heard on Education

The Alaska legislature is working hard to resolve the state’s fiscal crisis. There are no easy answers, but the $69M cut to base education funding currently introduced as part of the Senate’s operating bill is of concern for our public school community. This 5% cut is on top of the already planned loss of 120 Anchorage School District positions, which was based on flat funding.

What does this mean at Steller? Less educational offerings for our students.

What can you do about it? Make your voice heard. The most effective route would be writing to all of the state’s legislators. Here is a link: https://akleg.gov/docs/pdf/whoswho.pdf.
