Let’s Make it Happen at the All Community Meeting!

“Ask not what Steller can do for you, ask what you can do for Steller!”

Come to the All Community Meeting and be the change at Steller that we want to see!!

All community members, including teachers, students, and parents are invited to our first semester All Community Meeting on

Thursday, October 10th 6:30-8:30.

Last year our community came up with a “wish list” of ideas we would like to see happen at Steller and this year we are going to make some of those a reality.  This fall, our community participated in a survey that allowed community members to give their input into the importance of each of the wish list items. This ACM will focus on generating ideas in small committees on how to make some of those ideas happen. Here is a basic agenda for the meeting:

1.     Meet in the MPR for introduction

2.     Break into small committees based on what idea you want to see happen. Here is a list of all the small committees.

  • Plan and carry out a Career Day with professional guest speakers.
  • Come up with ways to increase recreational and sports opportunities for students both at school and between other small schools.
  • Look into Artist in Residence programs and into bring in artists to do workshops before and after school. Design a process and come up with ways of getting art on the outside of the building.
  • Look into ways to improve the student lounge. Work to implement this improvement.
  • Come up with ideas to expand our experiential learning opportunities. These could include classes, intensives, and after school clubs taught by parents, past alumni, and guest teachers.
  • Come up with ways of creating fun activities that bring our community together. This could include potlucks before All Community Meetings, activity nights, or other community building activities.
  • Help facilitate Steller as a home base school. Work to educate students and parents on the opportunities of taking classes at other schools and the process for doing so.
  • Plan a 40 Year Alumni Bash to celebrate our 40th Anniversary.

3.     Work with a small committee of parents, teachers, and students to come up with the steps to implement the idea and people to take on carrying out the idea.

4.     Report back your idea to the whole community.

We hope to see everyone there. Remember Friday is an Inservice day, so students don’t need to worry about getting homework done. If you want to bring cookies or another easy dessert, please do!
