Dear Parents/Guardians:
Your Steller 8th grade health class is hosting an extravagant health fair on Wednesday March 4th. This health fair will involve the whole school in a day of health related activities. The day will look like this:
- 8:30-9:00- healthy breakfast in advisory groups. We will need your help here with providing food, items such as fresh fruit (no bananas), yogurts, low sugar cereals, milk, juice, breads etc.
- 9:10-9:40- First session.
- 9:50-10:20- Second session
- 10:30-11:00- Third session
- 11:10- 11:40- Fourth session
- LUNCH
- 12:40-1:10- Fifth session
- 1:20-1:50- Sixth Session
- BACK TO ADVISORY GROUPS- healthy snacks and surveys (we need help with healthy snacks here as well, items such as celery, peanut butter, fruit, juice, etc.
So far, we have a chiropractor coming for all six sessions, a sexual health specialist, an organ donation specialist, and a teenage mental health specialist. We hope to also have a nutritionist, emergency room doctor, optometrist, acupuncturist, physical therapist, dentist, dermatologist, hair specialist, Alaska Lung association, and also a yoga instructor. Please let Shannon know via email (herda_shannon@asdk12.org) or phone (907 440 2522) if you might be able to help provide for any of these topics or just feel like volunteering in any other way throughout the day.
