Christmas Bird Count for Kids at the Alaska Zoo! – Dec 10

Attention youth ages 6 and over!  The US Fish and Wildlife Service, the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, the Alaska Zoo and Audubon Alaska are pleased to announce their seventh annual Christmas Bird Count for Kids, Saturday, December 10th, 2016 at the Alaska Zoo!  Get your kids registered now for the opportunity to become “citizen scientists” during this celebrated annual tradition!  Kids will explore the outdoors with experienced birders to practice their observational skills and to discover how local birds tough out the Alaska winter.  This program is for ages 6 and above and will begin at 9am in the Gateway Hall at the Alaska Zoo, and end at 1pm.  There will be bird-related freebies, food and drinks for all, so don’t miss out on this great opportunity to get outside and have some unforgettable fun encouraging bird conservation.  Only a small number of birding spots are available so please contact Stephanie Hartman at slhartman@alaskazoo.org, or call (907) 341-6463 to make your reservations today!  Fee is only $3 per person.
