Hey, Steller Community!

Next week we will kick off Steller’s third annual coin drive, Monday February 7th is the start of the coin drive. This will be a competition between the Advisory Groups and the winner will receive a pizza party. All proceeds are going to Alaskan Children’s Service, so start saving those coins.

Temple Of The Bean Needs Parent Volunteers

How do you like coffee?  Have some spare time in your day?  The Temple of the Bean DESPERATELY needs help!

In order to open, TOB needs a parent supervisor for EVERY shift! You don’t need to do anything, just sit, sip and exist.
There a three shifts a day: Before school, during lunch, and after school. We can make you a discounted latte, hot chocolate or anything else you want, just for the benefit of your presence.

The shifts are from 7:45-8:20; 11:50-12:30; and 2:10-3:00; Monday-Friday. Even if you don’t know a specific day or time you can show up, please let me know if you’re willing to help!

Auction News

Spring Auction

The Spring Auction is being planned by the Parent Group this year with the help of the 9th Graders.  We will hold our first meeting this Friday, December 10th at 2pm in Ken’s room.

If you helped with the Auction last spring, please consider attending this first meeting so we can brainstorm.  We really need any volunteers who assisted in any way last year to attend this meeting so we can benefit from your experience.  Attending this first meeting does not obligate you to stay on the committee.

Auction Closet Cleanup

Next Friday, December 17 at 11:30am, several volunteers have agreed to meet to clean up the Auction materials in the small room next to the library.  We will also go through any auction items in Phillips’s closet.  We estimate with a group of 4 people, this will take us about 2.5 hours.

Thank you to all the families who were able to donate to the Steller Parent Group this year!  We collected more than last year and plan to put these funds to go use at the school.  If you wish to see where the money goes, please see the back of the Parent Group donation forms.  If you need a form, please email the Parent Group Treasurer, Rebecca Martin at <rmartin@ak-estate-cpa.com>.

If you would like some input into how these funds are spent, have a suggestion, or your student has a suggestion, please attend our next Parent Group Meeting to make your proposal.  Forms are available at the office or you can email Rebecca Martin.

If you have not yet made your parent group donation and would like to have it count as a 2010 tax donation, feel free to use the “Donate” button on the Steller Flash web page.

Raffle!

Time is running out to get your 2010 raffle ticket for your chance to win a 2010 Mazda Tribute 4×4 SUV!

Drawing will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2010.

You can buy a ticket from Rebecca Martin, Treasurer for the Parent Group, wk 677-1494 or Ken has graciously agreed to have tickets available during school hours in his room.

If you have raffle ticket books and collected money, all funds and raffle receipts should be placed in the Parent Group box located in the Administration Office.  Deadline: Monday, December 13th!
