Steller Auction Donation Request Letter and Form

The Steller Auction is November 17, right around the corner, and it is time to solicit donations to raise funds for our students!

Kari Hall, Co-Chair of the Steller Auction, sends along this short donation request letter along with a link to the donation form.

Kari urges all parents and Steller supporters to use these tools to solicit donations to our auction!

Hello!
November 17th is the Steller Auction 2018.
We are seeking donation items from local companies and unique handmade craft items.
All funds raised supports the Steller Parent Group (a 501c3 Non-Profit) that benefits student programs such as student travel scholarships, special projects and my favorite, the Souper Steller program.
Please let us know if you are interested in supporting the Steller Auction 2018.
Thank you for your consideration~

Screenagers- Special Film Screening Wed, November 7 at 6 pm in MPR

Please join Steller Secondary for a special screening of, Screenagers: Growing Up in the Digital Age.  This is a Community Movie Night hosted by the Steller Parent Group.  It will be held at 6:00pm Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in the Steller Secondary Multi-Purpose Room.

This is a 68 minute film directed by Delaney Ruston, a documentary filmmaker, Stanford trained physician and international speaker who shares stories about health issues and creates movements to foster individual and social change.  Screenagers is about the impact of the digital age on children and how to help families minimize harmful effects and find balance.  After seeing the film, people tell us that they feel more confident and better equipped to establish balance around screen time.  We will be watching this as a school but believe that much of the benefit will be for parents and students to have the shared experience.

This is a FREE screening.  We hope to see all of you there.

ANCHORAGE HEALTH KICK FESTIVAL- Saturday Nov. 3- ROMIG

2018 Healthkick Poster – ASD

Please join us at Romig Middle School Saturday, November 3 beginning at 11 am for a Martial Arts Demonstration, and family fun, food and activities until 4 pm.

According to the State of Alaska’s Office of Children Services, an average of 3,000 children are in Foster Care during any given month, while there are only about 1,000 licensed facilities providing care to these children. Most of these children have been removed from homes due to abuse or neglect, and most often with nothing of their own except the clothing on their backs.

While this is a fun-filled family festival, the funds raised, mostly through donations, will go to help Alaska’s foster children and Alaska Center for Resource Families, a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency.

We need everyone’s help, including Anchorage School District’s, to make the 2nd Annual Anchorage Health Kick Festival a success! Champs Marital arts is teaming up with Alaska Center for Resource Families to raise funds to provide for these foster children’s unmet basic needs, such as tooth brush, toiletries, blankets.

There will be Anchorage police officers, fire fighters with fire truck, K-9, CPR instructions, martial arts demonstration, calligraphy, cultural performances, live acts, silent auctions, face painting, local businesses and nonprofits, food truck, TV/radio coverage and so much more.

Along with the Governor, who will deliver the welcoming remarks, our Mayor, other public officials, APD, AFD, we would like to invite Anchorage students and their families to come out and enjoy this educational pubic event.
