REGISTRATION FOR BASKETBALL IS FILLING FAST.  DON’T SNOOZE – 27 DAYS OUT
REGISTER HERE

Are you ready for some quality basketball? Don’t snooze and register quick! This program fills up fast.CSA offers a fun and exciting indoor developmental basketball program for youth 6- 15 years old. This program Kicks off Nov. 12 and ends Dec. 12, 2018. We play 10 sessions on Monday & Wednesday evenings. That’s 10 sessions of basketball.   Our program is designed to be a developmental program to teach our kids how to play the game of basketball, with all the fun of a league atmosphere.   One-half of the hour long session is dedicated to skill building.  The other half is set up for game play (scrimmage).  As a lifetime teacher and coach I have designed this program to parallel the best model for learning.  Skill building followed by application.  Most of our training is technical skill building.  As the kids get older, we add in tactical aspects of the game.  We call it learning the “Why’s of the game.” We always include physical development with a series of exercises and stretches.  The 4th element of the complete athlete is the psychological domain.  We pride ourselves with an intentional emphasis on teaching good sportsmanship and values on and off of the court.   We’re not as interested in building world class basketball players as much as we are in building world class humans.  We pray a blessing over our young athletes as we begin.
See you on the court and don’t hesitate to call me if you have any questions.

KTHS Dog Wash & Grooming Fundraiser

It’s that time again. The KTHS Vet Assisting program is hosting their dog wash to raise funds for their class activities and their HOSA competitive team. We will have 4 this year, one per quarter.

This year, we will continue our tradition of the overnight field trip to the Sea Life Center and the Wildlife Conservation Center. Our program has grown, so we will be taking two advanced classes instead of one this year.  We also are raising funds to send our competitive team to compete in the Veterinary Science Competition again this year. Last year our program took state champions and we hope for a repeat this year. Our chapter is growing and we will have 13 competing this year versus only 2 last year.

Please see the attached flyer for prices, offered services, and times.  It is by walk in only! The wait may be long, but our students will try to make it worth your while. We will offer bath, brush, blow dry, teeth brushing, ear cleaning, toe nail trims and anal gland expression. Our students do not learn full grooming, so we cannot do haircuts.  Please make sure to bring your pets Rabies certificate with you.

Our students can’t wait to work with your pet. Cats are also welcome, but it does become a bit stressful for them with all of the dogs.  GroomingFundraiser-flyer

Steller Jazz Group

Aa a passage, Ella Hanson will be holding a jazz group at Steller during 7th hour. Our first rehearsal will be Thursday, October 4th. All wind players are welcome, as well as rhythm section instrumentalists provided they have a year of experience on their instruments. Steller’s jazz group will have the incredible opportunity to work with Sara Anderholm, a musician, songwriter and teacher.

For more information visit her website, http://www.sarzmusic.com.

All participating musicians are expected to attend rehearsals, practice outside of school, and be available to play at the All Community Meeting in November. We’d love to get an accurate headcount before we start, so if you intend to join us or have any questions, talk to Ella or email me at ellah1702@gmail.com.
