ANNOUNCEMENTS

  • 9th graders still need to pay $10 to the Office (even though the camping trip didn’t happen, we are planning another event)

  • 10th graders need to pay $5 to the Office (Camping Trip)

  • 11th graders need to pay $35 to the Office (Camping Trip)

  • Art Class, All Art Classes are $20

  • make payments in the Office

  • Students need Composition Books for tomorrow (Thursday, first day of classes) if you have Leigh Anne, Brian or Ken as a Teacher.

  • Parking Permit forms are in the Office, $55 per Semester

  • Please donate shelf stable foods to the Nurse. Examples: Cup of Noodles, Granola Bars, Fruit Leather, Instant Mac n’ Cheese

  • Buy Yearbooks now before prices go up. They are $55 and forms are available in the Office

  • After 2:05pm, that is choice time. Students need to make responsible choices and be in a club, sport or in Math Lab. From 2:05pm to 4:00pm is not time to hang out in the halls or student lounge with your friends. Please make arrangements for rides if students are not in a club, sport or Math Lab.

1. 6th period Art with Jean is 7-12 not 9-12

2. 4th period Physics with Brian has 2 course options: Physics or Conceptual Physics. Students need to sign up for one or the other but can switch at the beginning of the semester if they think they sign up for the wrong level of physics.

Sign up by Sept 2 for PSAT

PSATOctober 19 at Steller – during school hours.

We recommend the PSAT for all college-bound Juniors. The PSAT is also open to 10th graders.  Sign up at the front office by September 2nd – fee is $15.00.

Note: students who plan to request test accommodations need to apply by August 30th. Receiving accommodations in high school does not necessarily qualify for accommodations on the PSAT or college entrance tests in general. NO SCHOOL: REGISTRATION ONLY Wed Aug 24

imgresThere is NO SCHOOL, tomorrow, Wednesday, August 24th. Students are only here during their REGISTRATION TIME. When students arrive, they need to be in their advisor’s room until dismissed to register, then back in their advisor’s room until their ride arrives. This is not a time for students to socialize or hang out in the lounge/halls.

  • 8:00am-10:00am 12th/8th

  • 10:00am-12:00pm 7th/11th

  • 12:00pm-1:00pm Teacher Lunch

  • 1:00pm-3:00pm 9th/10th

Students are only allowed in the building during their specific registration time and must leave campus as soon as they are completed with their schedule.

Gifted Mentorship Program

Applications are being accepted for 2016-17 Gifted Mentorship Program until Friday, September 9th, 2016 at 3pm. Information about the program, including a link to the application, can be found at: http://www.asdk12.org/giftedprogram/highschool/giftedmentorships/  See flyer HERE

Mentorships are available in Engineering, Nursing, and many other areas. Students must be a junior or senior and meet certain academic requirements to qualify for the program. Amber Jaasma, Gifted Mentorship Coordinator with ASD, will be visiting Steller the first half of lunch in library August 31st.  Students are also welcome to contact Ms. Jaasma directly with any questions about the program or application process, at 742.3841, cell 529.1479, or fax 742.4778.

compositionPlease donate college ruled composition books to the office. Right now at Fred Meyers they are .49 cents each and you are limited to 10 per trip. Your student will need a couple for classes and we would really like to have some in the office for sale or to gift students that cannot afford to purchase them. Some of teachers that would like you to have composition books are: Ken, Leigh Anne, Brian and Mike
