Souper Steller News! Soup is on this week and help is needed!

This week Brian’s advisory chose Caribou Chili and Tomato Basil soups along with Corn Bread and fruit.

We would appreciate help Thursday from 2 to 4 PM and Friday anytime between 9 AM and 12:45 PM.

Update for next year- Do we want this tradition to continue? How might we change it? Unfortunately, Alyse is not able to lead Souper Steller next year. So if this is something you’re interested in doing now would be a great time to check in with Alyse and find out more details. This work can be divided among more than one person too! (Many hands make light work) there will be a meeting March 29 at noon for any parent and/or interested in discussing how and if we might organize for next year.

Please contact Alyse.galvin@gmail.com or 884-2299 with questions.

Iceland Trip Parent meeting – Thursday March 30, 6 pm

Have you ever wanted to travel to Iceland and visit some of the most amazing geographical features in the world? Have you wondered how early settlers of Iceland found the island and how its location influenced events around it? In May 2018, Jason and LeighAnne will be leading a travel intensive to Iceland. Students have already attended two informational meetings, and there has been a lot of interest expressed in this trip. On Thursday, March 30, at 6pm there will be a meeting for parents and students to attend to learn more about this trip, the itinerary, registration, and have an opportunity to ask questions. The meeting will take place in Jason’s room and should last no more than an hour. Please come to learn more about this awesome opportunity to visit one of the most unique places in the world.

Thank you to Op Group, Parent Group, ASD Title VII Indian Education, and South High.

Op Group purchased role play swords for the Medieval intensive and the peer-taught play.  Parent Group sponsored the supplies for the art intensive, watercolors for the Medieval intensive, and Peak which is currently being read by the middle school students.  Title VII donated The Trap, another title middle school students are reading.  South High is lending us Saving Fish from Drowning and Oryx and Crake, both used this year in high school English.  I appreciate how the community provides opportunities for students.
Thanks so much,
Becky
