Within the document job seekers will be able to find descriptions and links to a variety of internships (both paid and unpaid), full-time jobs, part-time jobs, and seasonal positons. We have received 50 positions from a diverse range of organizations around Anchorage and Alaska. Since we are still receiving positions, we will be updating the document regularly.

Mayor’s AmeriCorps Program (MAP)

The Mayor’s AmeriCorps Program (MAP) is a twelve-week summer program for young adults ages 18-26. MAP participants will connect primarily underserved or otherwise disadvantaged communities with Municipality of Anchorage sources and services.
“MAP will help Anchorage cultivate and grow the talent pool to serve our community and give the opportunity to young adults to develop the skills and awareness that will open the door to future possibilities,” said Mayor Berkowitz.
MAP provides valuable workforce/professional development opportunities by placing AmeriCorps volunteers throughout several Muni departments. The 2017 departments are:

  *   The Anchorage Police Department
  *   The Anchorage Fire Department
  *   Parks and Recreation
  *   Anchorage Public Library
  *   Department of Health and Human Service

Cap & Gown update

At the parent meeting, it was voted that if parents order the cap & gown and leave the gown with the school after graduation, Steller would reimburse them for $40.

<Previous notice>
For any student who would like to wear a gown for graduation, Jostens of Anchorage at 223-6002 is a great option.  Just advise them that you are from Steller Secondary and they will fix you up with a gown of your choosing.

Some students of the Senior class have opted to purchase caps through another vender.  That order is still going through and if you have not made your order and would like to purchase just a cap, please contact the office and we will forward the information to the proper contact.

The wearing of the traditional cap and gown is only an option.  Steller graduates are welcome to choose whether or not to wear them.
