Yale Young Global Scholars Program

The YYGS online application is currently live, and our application requirements are listed on our website as a helpful guide. We have gathered a list of common questions and answers that will hopefully make the application process easier for both you and your students. These questions are frequently asked by both students and educators alike:
________________________________

01. WHICH STUDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM?
Applicants must be in US Grade 10 or US Grade 11 (or the international equivalent) at the time of application. More information about YYGS eligibility requirements are listed on our website.
________________________________

02. HOW MUCH IS THE APPLICATION FEE AND HOW DO STUDENTS PAY FOR IT?
For Summer 2018, the YYGS application fee is 60 USD. After submitting the online application, students will be directed to a webpage to pay the fee online.
________________________________

03. WHERE CAN STUDENTS FIND THE APPLICATION FEE WAIVER FORM?
If the application fee presents a financial burden for the student’s family, then he or she may complete a fee waiver form. This form can be uploaded on the financial aid section of the online application.
________________________________

04. HOW DO STUDENTS SUBMIT THEIR TRANSCRIPTS?
Students must include the contact information for a school administrator on the online application. Once the student completes the application, an email automatically sends to the administrator with directions explaining how to upload the transcript electronically.
________________________________

05. HOW DO STUDENTS SUBMIT THEIR LETTERS OF RECOMMENDATION?
Similar to the transcript, students will include contact information for their recommenders on the online application. Once the student completes the application, an email automatically sends to the recommender with directions explaining how to upload the recommendation letters electronically.
________________________________

Please know that our application deadline is February 6, 2018. More information about program eligibility, application questions, and financial aid can be found on our online FAQ. If your question is still not answered, you can also contact us directly by email.

Hope this helps,
