Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated! * Donations in excess will revert to SPG to support initiatives for Steller students. Thank you for your support!

September 2024

Dear Steller Community,

The mission of the Steller Parent Group is to promote involvement in school activities, to solicit address, and make recommendations regarding issues and policies facing the Steller Community, and to support fundraising activities and facilitate the disbursement of those funds.

Steller Parent Group wants to make sure that we are reaching as many members of our community with up to date and relevant information as possible.  We have three ways we communicate with you:

  1. Steller Secondary Parent Group is a closed Facebook Group created to promote communication between current parents, teachers, and staff for organizing school activities, announcements, questions, and keeping up with everything that is going on. Feel free to jump in with questions or posts sharing things that might be of interest to our community.

Steller Community at it’s Best!

The 2024 Steller BBQ on Tuesday was a stellar success!

Certainly our biggest BBQ in the last six years, we think we had about 550 staff, students and their families in attendance. The weather cooperated and it was great to be able to spread out in the field. It was wonderful seeing old friends reconnect, and new friendships started!

Of course an event like this wouldn’t be possible without a whole slew of volunteers working behind the scenes. This year we had about 30 adult volunteers and a great group of 10 students helping to make everything run smoothly in the Steller tradition.

Thank you to everyone!

If you want to know more about Steller Parent Group and help us plan more community events like this please reach out!

Our next community event “Celebrate at Steller”  will be on Friday, September 13 from 2:00 to 5:00pm, You are all invited to this open house where we will celebrate 50 years of Steller Education. And don’t forget to buy your ticket to “A Steller Evening Out”, our standing reception for staff and parents/guardians at the Bridge C. Friday 6:30 to 10:00pm. Tickets go on sale Monday the 19th at 8:00am and will sell out fast.

Welcome From Steller Parent Group!

September 2024

A Welcome Message from the Steller Parent Group

Dear families,

Steller Parent Group wants to extend a warm welcome to all new and returning Steller families. Steller is a special place, with a unique philosophy of learning: inspiring a community of independent, confident, self-directed learners and we are sure you are going to love it here as much as we do.

The Steller Parent Group is an integral part of the Steller Community. The purpose of the SPG is to enrich the lives of Steller students through the financial support and leadership from all active parents and guardians. We strive to promote parent and guardian involvement in school activities. To this end we host events during the school year, such as the start of the year BBQ, All Community Meetings and Annual Movie Day and we raise funds to support school initiatives through Cups4Kids, and coordinate volunteers whenever they are needed.

All of this takes the hard work and dedication of our community members. We think parental participation is more important now than it ever has been, and want to invite you to get involved and share your ideas. Each one of us has different skills, talents, and resources that are very much needed to make Steller what it is. For some it is volunteering to help a class, for others, it is heading up or joining a committee. Even simply attending our monthly meetings helps create community. We have tasks that need to be done during the day, in the evening, and many that don’t even require coming to school. We all want the very best education and experience for our children, and when we work together we can make it happen.

If you are interested in learning more about SPG positions please let us know, and as always, we welcome your thoughts and ideas about how Steller Parent Group can serve you.

2024-2025 we are celebrating our 50th Anniversary.

To learn about our special events please see our website here:

Warm regards,

*Please note the SPG website/Flash is meant to complement the district website asdk12.org/steller.  For official communication from the school and district please visit Q to update your contact information and settings to receive their communications via email, text or call.

Warm regards,

Dee Dee Zobian & Sarah Burke
