New Information when Requesting Student Transcripts

Academic transcripts are maintained and released in compliance with FERPA. FERPA is The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (20 U.S.C. § 1232g; 34 CFR Part 99) is a Federal law that protects the privacy of student education records.
According to ASD Policy Manual 368.4 Accessibility of Records, the student’s records (transcript) shall be available to the parent or eligible student as defined in section 368(b). An eligiblestudent is a student or former student who has reached the age of 18.
A student under the age of 18 does NOT have the authority to request an official transcript.  If a student needs an official transcript he or she will need to obtain written approval from their parent/guardian, including permission to pick them up.
