2011 Confucius Institute Summer Camp to China for High School Students: NOW ACCEPTTING APPLICATIONS

Time: 7/16-7/31, 2011
Cities You Will Visit: Beijing and Shanghai

WE COVER…
All expenses in China.
You only need to pay a registration fee of $150.00, an international round trip air ticket from Anchorage to Beijing, Chinese visa application fee ($140.00) and international travel insurance.
WHAT DO YOU DO IN SUMMER CAMP?
Studying Chinese language and culture (martial arts, brush painting, calligraphy, art of tea-making, Chinese knotting,  and other cultural workshops and lectures.); local sightseeing(Beijing and Shanghai); visiting Chinese schools; visiting local Chinese families.
HOW LONG WILL THE SUMMER CAMP BE?
Two weeks.
WHO IS QUALIFIED TO APPLY?
High school students (including grade 12 who will graduate high school this summer and grade 8 who will be going to Grade 9 this fall
). No Chinese language background required.
Two school district teachers are wanted to lead the group. Chaperons’ international round trip air ticket and all the expenses in China will be covered.
Submit your application form (Student <http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/ci/upload/Summer-Camp-Student-Application-Form-new-version.pdf> /Chaperon <http://www.uaa.alaska.edu/ci/upload/Summer-Camp-Teacher-Application-Form.pdf> )together with a one-page statement (a self-introduction and reasons why you want to join the camp etc.) and a recommendation letter from your teacher to us by April 30. First come first serve! You can either email us the application materials at UAACI@uaa.alaska.edu or fax them to 907-786-1060.
