We are forming a trip during the Spring Intensive to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland.
Here is what we are planning:
1. We will fly to Medford, Oregon and shuttle to Southern Oregon University where we will stay on the university campus in the conference center and dorms. All meals can be provided at the university site, if we wish. We will be staying on the Southern Oregon University campus during our entire stay.
2. While on campus, we will attend a minimum of 4 one-hour workshops such as Elizabethan Music, Theater Make-up, Stage Combat, and so on

3. At the Festival itself, we can have a backstage tour, pre and post discussions with a cast member, and other goodies.

5. There are usually about 8 plays to choose from. Schedules for Spring 2011 plays haven’t been posted as yet. They will put on their first outdoor musical in the Elizabethan Theater (Pirates of Penzanse). “To Kill a Mockingbird and others will be staged.

Our daily schedule will be decided in the future but we will definitely attend a workshop and a play every day. Final costs will depend on the number of students (min. 15-max. 20), the number of workshops, the number of pre and post play events, any added events that we may choose, and ground transportation. But at this time, a rough estimate would be $1700. This estimate is figuring in a round trip ticket to Medford, room and board, workshop fees, and the best seats in the house every day!
