All Community Meeting, This Thursday, 6:00-8:00pm

imgres-4Come join us! It is Steller’s first All Community Meeting of the year, this coming Thursday. We’re going to gather together to eat, listen to our very own band, play some games and discover how and why Steller is such a cool place to go to school. Everybody will be there….

Come early and help us chop veggies for salad and set up. It’s a great way to get to know other parents and students.

6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Get some food (until 6:30), then meet in the MPR before we are off to unearth all the treasures Steller offers.

  • Independent Semester: This is an exciting new unique Steller program that will be available students during their senior year who are ready to take control of their education and dive into inquires of personal interest.
  • Be the Change: Victoria and Steller students are working to create service opportunities for students to volunteer and make a difference in our community. Find out what opportunities are out there and how more students and parents can get involved.
  • Intramural Soccer: Steller does not have after school sports, but during lunch we have intramural indoor soccer. Find out when this will start and how it works.
  • Peer taught/Co-teaching: Find out how students can design and teach their own class or work with a teacher to co-teach an Intensive or class.
  • Passages: Passages for high school students provide an in depth exploration for a topic of personal interest and are required for all graduates of Steller. Students work with a teacher to develop a class around what they want to learn, how they are going to learn, and how they will share their learning.
  • Help Improve Steller: Do you have an idea of something that would make Steller better that you are willing to work on? Come share your ideas and find out what you need to do to get things done.
  • Souper Steller: This is a great program where most weeks students and parents come together on Thursday after school to make soup and rolls that are served to students and staff on Friday. Find out how you can volunteer and support this program.
  • Question and Answer: Get your questions about Steller answered by a group of veteran parents, students, and teachers.
  • Steller Government: Find out how the different representative bodies at Steller-Parent Group, Op Group, and Advisory Board work both together and separately to help manage and run our school.  Learn how you have a voice in this unique set-up.
  • Auction: Every year students and parents volunteer to put on an auction that raises money to support Steller, such as funding for travel and Intensive scholarships, Souper Steller, student projects/passages, and more. Find out how you can help make this year’s event a success.
