The momentum is building, fueled yesterday by Senator Gardner’s bill asking for an increase in the BSA of $404, and also asking to inflation-proof it going forward.
Other ways to help:
*Send letters to your legislators and the ADN.
*Print the flyer to post at your school, church, the grocery store, coffee shops, dry cleaner, etc. Pass them out to your network!
*Invite your Facebook friends to “like†us so that we can keep the reminders coming.
*Bring the children – this is for them!!!
WE NEED TO KEEP PRESSURE ON JUNEAU!
*Please keep calling and writing the governor, key legislators, and your representatives. Let them know that risking the future of Alaska by shortchanging our public schools is no longer acceptable! Ask your representatives to SUPPORT SENATOR GARDNER’S BILL THAT RESTORES EDUCATION SPENDING TO ITS 2011 LEVELS AND INFLATION PROOFS IT GOING FORWARD!
WE NEED MASS ATTENDANCE AT SCHOOL BOARD MEETINGS
*Come to a school board meeting on February 3 or 20, 6:30 pm, in the ASD Board Room. We need to pack the room to show the School Board and the folks in Juneau that these continuing cuts are not acceptable to the community.
*Testify at one of the meetings: www.asdk12.org/school_board/testify/.  If you have a personal story about how a cut has negatively impacted a student or student group, then tell that story!
