Help Students Become “Points of Light” for Volunteer Service and Leadership in their Schools, Families and Communities.
Encourage Students in Grades 8-12 to Attend the 17th annual Alaska Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute (PYLI)Â March 10-14, 2014 (9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.) during Spring Break at the Anchorage Salvation Army Corps Community Center.
Alaska PYLI is a dynamic 50-hour community leadership training for interested youth from across Alaska including 5 days of skill
development and instruction in self & community assessment, diversity, goal setting, team building, project planning, and decision making, plus hands on service-learning exercises, a community service project, and a graduation ceremony. School elective credit is available.
Cost for the March Alaska PYLI training is $ 100 with some need-based scholarship assistance available. Students are encouraged to apply as soon as possible and no later than February 28. Applications are available here:
